Line And Ink Reviews......

Review Scale

(I'm sure that you could figure it out, but just for good measure)

5.0: The higest rating that we give! Don't bother to read the fucking review! RUN out and buy the album now!!!

4.0 - 4.9: Awesome Album, but falling short of perfection. Be that as it may, it is guarenteed to rock your ass!!!

3.0 - 3.9: Good album, but not really all that special. You probably won't be dissapointed, but you won't be bowled over.

2.0 - 2.9: Not great, but also not bad. Only get this if there are a low supply of new albums around and your just dying for something new.

1.0 - 1.9: Look buddy if you want to throw your money away, just send it to me, and I'll call you up and sing Michael Bolton songs to you au cappella. Sure it'll be a one time deal, but you wouldn't want to listen to a CD with this rating more than once!

The Promise Ring---Electric Pink

Jade Tree Records

Rating: 1.5

Does anyone else agree that with each Promise Ring release the singing gets a little better but the songs get a little worse? I believe so, and on "Electric Pink" the Promise Ring have dumbed their music down to a new low. The songs here are very simple pop songs that you have heard before. Each one contains aggravating lyrics that will make you ask, "Why would they do that?" or "What the Hell the does that mean?" The last song, "Make Me A Mix Tape," could very well be one the worst songs ever written. Not since the last Ramones album have lyrics this bad been written: "Make a mix take, dont forget Husker Du, put something that the Cars did in 1982!" Thats worse than The Crusher! Now, in order to make sure the Promise Ring dont release "Make Me a Mix Tape II," I urge everyone who has heard this song to make these guys a damn mix tape! And dont forget all the bands they asked for: Duran Duran, U2, and the aforementioned Husker Du and 1982 era Cars. Send tapes to: The Promise Ring, P.O. Box 93511, Milwaukee, WI 53203
